Maple Avenue Bungalow
Our clients were ready to begin retirement in Richmond’s Three Chopt neighborhood with walkability to shops and restaurants. They envisioned a new custom home with first-floor living, a clean interior aesthetic, and spaces to host friends and family. The design also needed to fit the context of its surroundings. The craftsman bungalow features authentic details and proportions along with modern amenities such as flowing entertainment space and geothermal heating. The roof volume in the center provides for guest accommodations upstairs, while the lower massing at the front and rear matches the scale of nearby homes built 100+ years ago. Generous porches and outdoor living space invite relaxation. This home has delighted its owners and been a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
